“Tatamize”… like softening the light

The brand name “Tatamize” comes from the combination of two words; one is a Frenchverb “tamiser”which means “to soften the light,” and also means “to sift flour,” and theother is a Japanese word “ tatami” which is indispensable for a Japanese lifestyle.The brand “Tatamize” is aiming at proposing new casualwear which is based on the American and European casual wear and filtered andblended by Japanese designer, just like the thin curtain softening a sunlight. Those clothes are designed to be worn, to beloved and to cuddleto daily life.

“Tatamize” as basic

“Tatamize” started in 2004, as a hand-made band where the designerhimself makes a pattern, cuts the cloth, and does sawing and finishing.Nowadays, the production has been already shifted to the factory, and only thepattern-making and the sample-making are done by the designer, but still the designerrecognizes the importance to understand the whole process and fabric touches,and selects the best one in materials, pattern making, and sewing for eachdesign.

With each collection, there’s no specific theme in mind, alwayshoping to create the good items which are loved and continuously produced forlong time.
